Overview

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK), commonly known as Surface LASIK, is a safe and proven laser vision correction procedure that reduces dependence on glasses and contact lenses. Using an advanced excimer laser, PRK reshapes the cornea to correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism, providing clearer and sharper vision.

Unlike LASIK, PRK does not involve creating a corneal flap. Instead, the thin outer layer of the cornea (epithelium) is gently removed before laser treatment and naturally regenerates within a few days. This makes PRK an ideal choice for individuals with thin corneas, active lifestyles, or professions where flap-related complications should be avoided.

At Nikol Eye Care & LASIK Centre, every patient undergoes a comprehensive eye evaluation to determine whether PRK is the most suitable treatment for safe, precise, and long-lasting vision correction.
